Manuel Pellegrini closes in on West Ham job after leaving Habei China Fortune

Manuel Pellegrini has been reportedly close to succeeding David Moyes at West Ham after Hebei China Fortune released him on Saturday.

Pellegrini was reportedly on his way to London and would hold talks with Everton’s co-owner David Sullivan on Monday.

Pellegrini joined Hebei China Fortune in 2016 after he was replaced at Manchester City by Pep Guardiola.

The Chilean took the coaching position at City between 2013 and 2016 and led the club to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

Prior to joining City, he had spells with Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga in Spain.

“We feel thankful for Pellegrini’s contribution to our club, and wish him good luck in the future,” Hebei said in a statement posted on Weibo after a 2-1 victory over Chongqing Lifan.
