Shanghai SIPG stay top at Chinese Super League with a five-game winning streak

Brazilian forward Elkeson fired as Shanghai SIPG stayed atop with the fifth Chinese Super League consecutive win against Henan Jianye on Sunday.

Under the management of new coach Vítor Pereira, Shanghai SIPG managed a flawless start with a five-game winning streak in CSL on Sunday.

In an away game against Henan Jianye, the visitors earned a 2-1 victory thanks to the goals of Wang Shenchao and Elkeson.

With a desire to claim a victory in order to regain top spot, SIPG played at a high tempo right from the off. They broke the deadlock on the 36th minute by Wang Shenchao and needed no more than 3 minutes to double the lead by Elkeson.

In the injury time at the end of the first half, Ma Xingyu narrowed the gap for Henan Jianye.

During the latter half, none of the sides managed to score a goal, and the game ended with a 2-1 goal for Shanghai SIPG.

In other three games, Guangzhou Evergrande beat Shandong 1-0 while Guizhou Hengfeng lost 1-0 to Quanjian.
