Muangthong United thrash JDT 5-2 in the AFC Champions League qualifier

Muangthong United thrashed Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) 5-2 in the second preliminary round of AFC Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Thai League 1 side got off to the dream start when Sarach Yooyen opened the score in the seventh minute before Tristan Do doubled the score in the 21st minute.

Heberty Fernandes de Andrade was next on the scoresheet after converting a penalty in the 28th minute for Muangthong. The Brazilian grabbed his second of the evening with a freekick from the edge of the box in the 69th minute.

Beforehand, Muangthong entered the second half with the goal of Theerathon Bunmathan in the 56th minute.

JDT managed to reduce the deficit by pulling a couple of goals back in injury-time courtesy of a brace from Jorge Pereyra Diaz.
