Jaja Coelho fires back at former club Buriram after joining rivals Muangthong

Former Buriram United forward Jaja Coelho was officially unveiled as the new signing of Muangthong United, the club announced on Monday.

Coelho joined Buriram United from Lokeren in January 2017 on a one-year loan deal, however, the Thunder Castle decided to part ways with the striker at the end of the season.

The Brazilian was one of the key players that helped Buriram to secure the title of 2017 Thai League 1. He was the top scorer and top provider at the club with 34 goals and 12 assists in the league.

On Monday’s press conference, Jaja fired back at his former club: “I have joined Muang Thong to prove myself after being denied an extension by Buriram,” as quoted by the Bangkok Post.

“I will do my best to help Muangthong with the Thai League 1 title and succeed in the AFC Champions League,” he added.
