Lao Toyota FC is now eligible to participate in the 2018 AFC Cup after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) upheld the ban on match manipulation, which was issued in December.
Previously, the AFC Entry Control Body (ECB) declared the club was “directly and/or indirectly involved in activities aimed at arranging or influencing the outcome of matches” during the 2015 and 2016 AFC Cup seasons.
After that, Lao Toyota FC filed the appeal on 22 December 2017 against the decision issued by the ECB.
On 2o January 2018, The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issued its decision in the arbitration procedure between Lao Toyota FC and the AFC.
According to the result, the Laotian club was eventually cleared of any infraction by the ECB and is able to compete in this year’s AFC Cup.
