Brisbane Roar stunned by Ceres Negros in AFC Champions League qualifier

Ceres-Negros shockingly defeated Brisbane Roar 3-2 in the second preliminary round qualifier of AFC Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Brisbane Roar went ahead in the 35th minute through veteran striker Massimo Maccarone, but the Filipino side equalized in the 43rd minute from Bienvenido Maranon after Brisbane failed to clear a corner.

The visitor took the lead when Maranon scored in the 65th minute, then he struck the second goal in the night with a fine curling effort past Jamie Young in the 65th minute.

Omid Nazari widened the gap for Ceres-Negros in the 75th minute to put the visitors up to 3-1. Substitute Eric Bautheac pulled one back for the Roar but it was not enough to save the three-time A-League champions from a disastrous night.
