The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has issued the two-week ban to six referees for making “inaccurate decisions” during M-League last season.
Meanwhile, four other referees were temporarily sidelined by the FAM referee committee, who made the decision after receiving 18 complaints from M-League teams.
“It’s either to let them assume duty in high-level competitions, suspension for a certain period or demotion to a lower tier,” referee committee chairman Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh said, as quoted by The New Straits Times.
“Whatever it is, we will look and re-evaluate their mistakes. This step is necessary to ensure the league goes smoothly as well as preserving the competition’s image.”
