JDT donate Malaysia Cup prize money to flood victims in Penang

Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) announced today that they would donate the prize money from the recent Malaysia Cup victory to the victims of the flood in Penang.

The decision was announced by JDT president Tunku Tun Aminah Ibrahim following a decree by Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, who is her brother.

“As decreed by the Crown Prince of Johor, among the policies of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC is to provide assistance and aid to the needy, including to the flood victims in Pahang and Kelantan, and earthquake victims in Sabah,” said Tunku Tun Aminah in a statement uploaded on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.

“We have provided aid to state governments over the years and JDT will continue to do the same.

“JDT FC and its players have decided to give our Malaysia Cup prize money to the flood victims in Penang,” she added.

On Saturday, JDT won the Malaysia Cup for the first time with a 2-0 win over Kedah in the final at Shah Alam Stadium.
