Thailand FA president: We hope Rajevac will stay

The president of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Pol Gen Somyot Poompunmuang expressed hope that the veteran Serb would stay with Thailand national team amid the speculation of Serbian’s move to a Chinese Super League’s club.

“It will be his [Rajevac’s] decision,” said Somyot, as quoted by the Bangkok Post. “We cannot afford to pay him large sums of money, but if he wants to stay, it will be a great pleasure for us.

“I believe that he will not go anywhere because he has just submitted his plan for the national team to me.”

Rajevac could be set to leave his post after just six months in the job as it has been reported that he was drawn attention from at least one club in China.

The 63-year-old was appointed to the Thailand job this may after signing a one-year deal, following the resignation of Kiatisuk “Zico” Senamuang.
