Japanese clubs interested in signing Vietnamese midfielder Tran Phi Son

Vietnamese playmaker Tran Phi Son has drawn attention from many Japanese clubs, his current club Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) revealed.

In an announcement on SLNA’s home page, the club chairman Nguyen Hong Thanh confirmed that Phi Son had received some offers from the Japanese teams.

“We have discussed his future with him many times but we have not reached the final agreement,” Thanh told media reporters, as quoted by The Thao 247.

“We want him to stay at the club. In fact, I talked with Son and he said that he wanted to take a trial in Japan. If none of the Japanese clubs signed a contract with Son, he will agree to extend the contract with SLNA,” the chairman added.

Phi Son has been playing a vital part in Song Lam Nghe An at V-League and National Cup. His impressive performances help the club secure a relatively safe position at the top-flight table.

Before Phi Son, there have been three Vietnamese players to play at Japanese clubs, namely Le Cong Vinh, Nguyen Cong Phuong and Nguyen Tuan Anh.
