Indonesia Sports Minister promises to provide more medics during professional matches

Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi promised to have more medics on standby during professional matches following the tragical death of Persela Lamongan’s goalkeeper Choirul Huda.

“We agreed to provide more medical support during matches to ensure what happened to Huda never happens again,” Imam said in a meeting with Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) chairman Edy Rahmayadi on Monday, as quoted by Jakarta Globe.

On the other hand, Iman said he ordered PSSI to form a special team to investigate incidents of violence during football matches.

On Tuesday, PSSI deputy chief Joko Driyono said its medical division started an investigation into the death of Persela Lamongan goalkeeper Choirul Huda, who had died after an on-field collision with teammate Ramon Rodriguez and Semen Padang FC striker Marcel Sacramento on Sunday.
