Super Power Samut Prakan finally earned their first victory in the season following a narrow 3-2 win over stubborn Navy FC at home on Saturday night.
Before this game, Super Power had experienced a series of 27 straight winless games in Thai League 1, including humiliating defeats like 7-0, 8-0, 9-2 and 9-1.
The previous best result of the Samut Prakan-based club in the league this year was a goalless home draw against Bangkok Glass in their second match.
Tanapol Udomlap was the hero of the home team as he produced the match-winning goal in the 63rd minute.
“This is the score we had been waiting for and it finally happened tonight,” Super Power coach Sirisak Sangchan said in the post-match press conference, as quoted by Bangkok Post.
“Our past results may suggest other things, but we have worked very hard for this victory.
“It was a great game for us and everyone played very well.”
