Newly-appointed technical director Chung Hae-seong of Hoang Anh Gia Lai has expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnam national team coach Park Hang-seo to enhance the development of football in the country.
“Upon arriving in Vietnam, I made an immediate contact with Park Hang-so. We will collaborate to develop Vietnam football,” Chung said, as quoted by Bongdaplus.
Chung and Park had a very close relationship in the past. As a player, both of them were teammates for four years (1984-88) at Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso Club.
In coaching career, Chung and Park, who are at the same age, were assistant to Guus Hiddink when the Koreans reached the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup on home soil.
Chung has since managed several club teams in his homeland, most recently Chung Ang University as the counselor.
