Cambodia coach Leonardo Vitorino admitted that Vietnamese players are “on a higher level” than his side after their disastrous 5-0 defeat in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
“Cambodia football has made some progress but still needs more time to develop,” Leonardo said in the post-match press conference, as quoted by Dan Tri.
“I was not satisfied with our defenders. I think the technique of the players must come from the national league. Vietnam has the opportunity to develop, based on the high quality of their V-League.
V-League has a different scale and characteristics with our football league. In the next match, I will have to drop many older players and replace them with the younger.”
