AS Roma donate 2 million euros to the hospital in Rome through one day of worth of their salary, a fundraising campaign to fight coronavirus.
This comes after Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in Rome, one of the most important specialist hospitals in Italy desperately in need of a new equipment.
Thus Roma has agreed to immediately use a proportion of the funds to order three intensive care ventilators, five pulmonary ventilators for sub-intensive care and eight new intensive care beds.
“As players we have all donated – everyone else who lends a hand will be making an important contribution too.”

The joint donation made by players and coaching staff collected more than 2 million euros, which means the fund is currently 4.6 million since it was launched last week.
Club president Jim Pallotta is the first one to donate 50,000 euros, followed by club’s foundation, Roma Cares who donated 50,000.
Sporting activity has been suspended in Italy since March 9 as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
Italy remain the second worst country to be affected by coronavirus after China, but currently have the most casualties with more than 5,ooo deaths.
