Timo Werner’s agent drops Bayern Munich reunion hint

The Blues signed Timo Werner ahead of Liverpool last summer with a huge fanfare but what ensued for the forward was a tough season and now a transfer return to the Bundesliga could be on the cards.

Werner’s agent has admitted the possibility of return to the Bundesliga this summer for the forward now that his former boss Julian Nagelsmann is in charge of Bayern Munich, and a reunion between the two could not be ruled out at the Bavarian club.

This new development comes after a trying first season in the Premier League for the striker, who scored just six times in 35 league appearances after the Blues landed the 25-year-old ahead of Liverpool last year as then-manager Frank Lampard desperately looked for heavy reinforcements to galvanize his attack.

But inadvertently Werner somehow fell short and was culpable for missing some absolute sitters throughout the campaign while his confidence also took several unflattering knocks in the process.

All of which was totally unexpected as in his final season in the Bundesliga, the Germany international was in red-hot form for RB Leipzig, having scored 34 times under Nagelsmann, who clearly knows the right buttons to press to get the best out of the pacy forward.

And with the young manager now in charge of Bayern Munich, a potential reunion has been tipped to follow, with Werner’s agent Karlheinz Forsterbe acknowledging the impact Nagelsmann had on his client’s career and has not ruled out a move to the Bundesliga.

He told Sport1 : “Julian let Timo play in a different position at Leipzig. A bit like Thomas Muller at Bayern. Julian and Timo appreciate each other.”
