Daniel Levy’s stance could see Tottenham miss out on £150m windfall in summer transfer window

Despite it being no secret that Tottenham talismanic striker Harry Kane is intent on leaving the North London club, it appears now he could be set to wait even longer for a move.

Kane has already openly expressed his desire to leave the north London club in the near future, with the likes of City, Chelsea and Manchester United all reported to be interested in signing the star striker.

The latest situation now is that Spurs could be set to miss out on a considerable windfall should they not allow Harry Kane to join Manchester City this summer.

Manchester City have reportedly been the first to express their intent to sign him by allegedly lodging a £100m bid for his signature but football.london understands that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention to sell this summer so has rejected the offer forthright.

Although that could be more beneficial for Spurs in the short-term, Pep Guardiola and his men are willing to wait a further year in order to do a deal., with that information coming from ESPN, with the suggestion that should they fail to bring him to the Etihad Stadium this time around, they will renew their interest after the 2021/22 campaign.

This could thus see Spurs miss out on a considerable amount.

In a year’s time, Kane will only have two years remaining on his contract and would be nearing his 29th birthday, hence putting the England captain in his prime years with Spurs certainly having reduced bargaining power in relation to his price.

By the same token, should his position not change over a Spurs departure, an extra year with the North London club could see Kane have yet more reason to demand an amicable departure from North London.

Again, this could contribute to his lofty asking price dropping even more and depriving Spurs of a huge windfall.
