J2 club Avispa Fukuoka has announced that their young defender Mikuni KennedyEgbus will join Italian side Juventus’ U-23 for a training session.
According to the information on the club’s official official site the player will join the “Bianconeri” from November 26th for a two-week trial period.
Supporters and journalists from Japan seem to be astonished by the news. It often happens that Japanese players join foreign clubs during the winter break, but to join a side like Juventus, one of the biggest clubs in the world, makes this transfer a hallmark.
The key person in facilitating this seems to Juventus U-23 coach Fabio Pecchia, who was the coach of Avispa Fukuoka from January to June 2019.
The coach always spoke very highly of the player talent and he is surely interested to see if Mikuni can perform on a bigger stage.
Mikuni is a 19-year-old player from Aomori Yamada High School who joined also Japanese national team U-20 on the recent World Cup.
The 192cm player fits as center-back for his power but height but he’s also able to play as side-back because of the flexibility that permits him to reach a high speed in a very short span of time. Let’s see how he will improve during the training with the Italian side.
