Hanoi FC edged closer to V.League title after they increased the gap with Ho Chi Minh City to 7 points after round 23 of the league.

Fans were kept out of Hanoi FC’s game against Viettel, due to a firework incident during the club’s game against Nam Dinh. The hosts had a slow start to the game, and they conceded 2 early goals in the first half of the match.

However, they came back with a huge pressure into Viettel’s defence. Trong Hoang’s red card meant that Viettel were reduced to 10 men, and the match turned into the one-way game. Hanoi FC easily scored no less than five goals in the second half to finish the match with a 5-2 scoreline.

With the win, Hanoi FC have 49 points, 7 points above Ho Chi Minh City, who only managed a 1-1 draw against Nam Dinh, when the league has only three games left. The capital club now seems to put one hand one the trophy.
