BG Pathum United confirmed their promotion to the Thai top flight with five games remaining in the season, and currently sit 14 points clear atop the country’s second division.

Returning from the international break, we take a look at T2 where BG Pathum United confirmed their promoted status with an astounding 7-1 victory over Lampang FC. A brace from Chaowat Weerachat and Jonatan Reis handed the home side a comfortable first-half 4-1.

Captain Surachat Sareepim added to the scoring in the 64th minute with a close-range finish, his 10th goal of the season.

Reis got his hattrick in the 84th minute, chesting a headed clearance down before rifling in a left-foot shot from the edge of the area. The former PT Prachuap FC and Suphanburi FC forward capped off a fantastic performance with a forth – running past two defenders down the left, playing a little give-and-go with substitute striker Barros Tardeli before sliding a cool finish into the far post.

The side can now seal the title next Saturday with a home match against relegation-battling Siam Navy FC, who were also demoted from T1 along with BG last season.

Below them, the battle for promotion continues as Police Tero, Rayong FC, Army United, Sisaket FC, and Udon Thani FC battle it out for the two remaining places.
