The action from round 23 of the V.League will continue this weekend. However, all of the people related to the league, from administrators to fans, will be more focused on the firework problem instead of the action on the field.

During a midweek match between Hanoi FC and Nam Dinh, a spectator at the Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi had to be rushed to the hospital after she sustained serious injury from a flare from Nam Dinh’s fans.

The incident happened as league leaders and hosts Hanoi FC pulled off a 6-1 win over Nam Dinh. A flare set off from the opposite stand hit the unfortunate supporter leaving a gash on her leg.

That incident means that this weekend’s derby between Hanoi and Viettel must be played behind the closed doors. That may cause some problems for Hanoi, as the team are chasing for their second consecutive title and are currently five points clear of Ho Chi Minh City FC.

This weekend, Ho Chi Minh City will also face the tough trip to the Thien Truong stadium to face Nam Dinh, while the match between Sai Gon and HAGL will be considered as a six-pointer for both two teams at the bottom half of the table.
