Paulinho has re-joined Guangzhou Evergrande after one season at Barcelona on a one-year loan, the Chinese club have announced.
The Brazilian midfielder will play for Guangzhou on an initial six-month loan, which includes a subsequent purchase option from December 31 for the defending Chinese Super League champions.
“The level of the Chinese Super League has improved year by year and the development prospects are very good,” Paulinho told Evergrande’s official website, as quoted by Xinhua News.
“I hope to bring more championships to Guangzhou and Guangzhou fans. I also hope to give the Super League more excitement.”
Paulinho was the key factor in helping Guangzhou win three consecutive league titles and an AFC Champions League crown during his previous spell in China after joining from Tottenham in 2015.
Following the criticized move to Barcelona, the 29-year-old made an impact in Barcelona, where he made 49 appearances for the Catalan side, scoring nine goals.
