Australian defender Matthew Jurman completes his move to Al-Ittihad

Australian defender Matthew Jurman has completed his move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, the club confirmed on Monday on their official Twitter account.

Jurman joins the Saudi club, who have won the AFC Champions League twice, from K-League outfit Suwon Bluewings on a two-year deal.

He was a regular in the K-League last season but only played four times this year for Suwon as he recovered from minor knee surgery.

The 28-year-old centre-back was part of the Socceroos squad at the World Cup Russia but did not feature in any match in the group stage.

With marquee player Mark Milligan likely to resign from international football, Jurman is expected to be a contender to partner Trent Sainsbury in defence, with the 2019 AFC Asian Cup just six months away.
