Barcelona confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande for midfielder Paulinho.
The 29-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday, before being officially unveiled at Barcelona’s headquarters in Spain.
According to reports, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will sign a four-year deal with the Spanish giants, with a release clause worth of €120million.
Paulinho has made his name at Brazilian club Corinthians and was a member of the Brazil side which won the 2013 Confederations Cup. He joined Tottenham Hotspur in July 2013, spending two seasons with the club.
He made the move to China in 2015, reuniting with his former coach Luiz Felipe Scolari at Guangzhou Evergrande. The 29-year-old midfielder helped Guangzhou Evergrande to back-to-back league titles in 2015 and 2016, as well as an AFC Champions League trophy in 2015.
