Iran forwards Sardar Azmoun and Reza Ghouchannejad retire from international football

Iran national team strikers Sardar Azmoun and Reza Ghouchannejad announce their retirement from international football after Team Melli’s elimination from 2018 World Cup.

Azmoun, 24, who has been Iran first-choice striker at the World Cup Russia, has been faced with many criticisms for his performance in Russia, so he decided to leave Team Melli.

However, he admitted in his statement that it’s possible to change his mind in future.

But the situation for Reza Ghouchannejad was different and he decided to retire after ended the World cup as an unused substitute.
