▶ Korea’s tactics

Only few people expected Korea to manage to survive in this group. Especially after the match against Sweden, who are considered not as strong as the other two, Shin Tae-yong would have thought Korea should focus on offense rather than defense.

Shin chose a 4-4-2 formation to utilise their speed. It was completely different from how they were against Sweden, when Korea recorded no attempt on target. This time, Korea managed to have some crucial opportunities too.

Defense was very tight, as well, or tough; East Asia’s side received four yellow cards, showing they were not afraid of committing the fouls.

However, this decision ended up giving a penalty kick. No conversion of opportunity did not turn out very well, either.
