Hanoi FC crowned 2018 V-League first-leg champions

Hanoi FC were crowned champions of the first leg of 2018 V-League following the 4-0 win over Sanna Khanh Hoa at Hang Day Stadium on Sunday.

Hanoi FC entered the game with great determination, aiming to extend their winning streak to 11 games despite the absence of top scorers Ganiyu Oseni and key midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet.

Their ambition was fueled up after Pham Van Thanh scored to put his side ahead nine minutes into play. The team’s attacking strength was unstoppable when Ngan Van Dai double the lead two minutes later.

Doan Van Hau widened the gap for Hanoi FC with his excellent header in the 41st minute.

In the second half, Khanh Hoa players made their efforts to earn the consolidation goal. However, it was Nguyen Quang Hai who dealt a further blow to the visitors’ hope by scoring a perfect free kick in the 87th minute to seal the 4-0 win for Hanoi FC.

The resounding victory secured Hanoi FC the top position of the first-leg V-League standings, with 8 points ahead of the second-placed team Than Quang Ninh, who were drawn 1-1 with Becamex Binh Duong in another match.
