Perth Glory unveil Tony Popovic as their new coach

Perth Glory have unveiled former Western Sydney Wanderers boss Tony Popovic as their new coach for next A-League season.

As reported by AAP, Popovic, who will replace the sacked Kenny Lowe, will be officially unveiled at the Glory’s awards night on Friday evening.

Popovic left Western Sydney Wanderers on the eve of the A-League season in a shocking announcement. He later plied his trade in Turkey’s Super League to coach Karabukspor as a gateway to Europe.

However, the 44-year-old was sacked in last December after 10 defeats from 11 game.

In another move, former Sydney FC chief executive Tony Pignata will replace the departing Peter Filopoulos who has taken charge of Football Federation Victoria.
