Neil Kilkenny signs three-year contact extension at Perth Glory

Perth Glory have re-signed star midfielder Neil Kilkenny as they rebuild for next season.

The 32-year-old has signed on a three-year deal, with the veteran midfielder promised a future coaching role at Perth Glory at the end of his contract.

He signed with Perth from Melbourne City in January after enduring hard times at his previous club.

In his so far short time with Glory, Kilkenny played 10 games and helped them come within a whisker of securing a finals berth.

“Everyone who knows me knows that I have ambitions to be a coach and a manager,” Kilkenny said, as quoted by SBS The World Game.

“I appreciate the club recognizing that potential in me and giving me the opportunity to take my first steps in fulfilling those ambitions in Perth.

“The club has the potential to be extremely successful, with the right personnel on board who bring the right winning mentality, and I want to be a part of that success.”
