Tianjin Quanjian have denied their interest in signing Barcelona marquee player Andres Iniesta, as reported by Spanish news outlet Marca.
There were rumors that the veteran midfielder was set to leave the Nou Camp at the end of this season and Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian would be willing to pay him 35 million euro annually.
However, Tianjin Quanjian released a statement regarding the matter on Monday, announcing it as “false information”.
“This information is false,” the club said.
Meanwhile, Iniesta has to race against time to recover from the hamstring injury, which caused him to miss Saturday’s La Liga win at Malaga.
The captain is expected to take on Barcelona’s Champions League showdown against Chelsea on Wednesday.
