K League’s defending champion Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors suffered a shocking 2-3 defeat on 10 March against Incheon United. However, the head coach Choi Kang-hee decided to look on the bright side.
“It was the right time to be defeated. I usually tell players to stay focused after a great victory but we did not as much as in the last match,” said Choi.
Indeed, Jeonbuk had a great start of the season with four consecutive victories, including 2-0 over Ulsan Hyundai and 6-3 over Tianjin Quanjian. Having scored 17 goals in four matches, however, Jeonbuk also showed their weakness in defense with five goals conceded. Choi also recognised this problem.
“It is our problem. Since this is still an early stage of the season, we can improve.
“We have time to fix our problem and recover [the points]. will reflect on and analyze this defeat.”
