Jeonbuk’s new forward Carlos Adriano led Jeonbuk Hyundai Motor’s 6:0 victory.
Adriano joined Jeonbuk this season; indeed, this AFC Champions League match against Kitchee SC, known for ex-Atletico star Diego Forlan’s team, was his first ever match at Jeonbuk. His debut turned out to be a huge success as he recorded a hat trick and an assist.
Jeonbuk grabbed their first chance as Lee Seung-gi was awarded a penalty kick. The Brazilian forward made no mistake, and scored his first goal in his first match in his new uniform. On 14 minutes, Adriano put his name on the board once more thanks to his brilliant positioning.
Lee earned another penalty, which allowed the Brazillian to complete a hat trick.
In his debut, Adriano also conveyed a selfless behaviour. Instead of taking a shot, the 30-year-old striker pass the ball through to Lee Dong-gook who successfully scored his 35th goal in ACL. With this, Lee remains the top scorer in the history of ACL.
