Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers denies Tom Rogic exit rumors

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has denied the rumors regarding Socceroos star Tom Rogic.

Last week, Australian news outlet SBS The World Game alleged that Rogic had rejected a new contract offer from Celtic and could leave the defending Scottish champions after the FIFA World Cup this summer.

However, club boss Rodgers is confident on keeping Rogic at Parkhead.

“It was the first I heard of it,” Rodgers said, as quoted by AAP.

“It will always be between the club and the players’ representatives but he’s got a year and a half left here.

“He’s been brilliant in my time here and we want to keep him. It will be ongoing with him and his representatives.”

The 25-year-old, who scored the last-minute winner Celtic in their Scottish Cup final victory against Aberdeen to last season, has not produced the best form this season.

He has made 29 appearances so far, with 13 of those from the bench, and has scored four goals.
