Bangkok United look to sign Iraq international Mohannad Abdul-Raheem

Bangkok United have targeted Iraq international Mohannad Abdul-Raheem, according to reports from Thailand.

Abdul-Raheem has been the vital factor in the Iraq national team in 2018 World Cup qualification campaign.

He has been familiar with Thailand football supporters after scoring 4 goals against the War Elephants in the 2018 World Cup qualifier at Tehran in October 2016.

The 24-year-old was rewarded the 2012 Asian Young Footballer of the Year, and the AFC U-19 Championship’s most valuable player in the same year.

Abdul-Raheem began his youth career at his native Al Karkh FC in 2006 and graduated to the first team in 2009.

Three years later, he moved to Duhok where he spent two seasons from 2012 to 2014 before a season with JS Kabylie in Algeria. He returned to Iraq to join Al Zawra’a in 2015.

After a year in Al-Nasr Dubai SC outfit, he rejoined Al Zawra’a in earlier 2017 before moving to Al Dhafra in July.
