Singapore international Zulfahmi Arifin joins Chonburi

Zulfahmi Arifin has been unveiled as the new signing of Thai League 1 side Chonburi FC, the club announced on Monday.

Zulfahmi leaves S-League side Hougang United to become the third Singapore international to play in Thai League this season, following goalkeepers Hassan Sunny (Army United) and Izwan Mahbud (Nongbua Pitchaya).

“Signing this contract is a great move for my football career,” Zulfahmi said on Chonburi’s official website.

“I know Chonburi FC very well and this team is a great football club of Thailand.

To play in Thailand is a challenge for me. I’m very familiar with the Thai players as well. Because Singapore have to face Thailand for many times, I know Nuri, Chanathip and Sukri very well. Thai players are good quality and friendly as well.

“My first goal will be to adapt to the style of Chonburi and the Thai League, and I will do my best.”
