Hebei China Fortune have denied any link with Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano, according to reports from China.
Hebei’s representative confirmed that the club were not interested in signing Mascherano, amid reports the Argentine is on the verge of moving to the Chinese Super League in January.
Mascherano joined Barcelona from Liverpool in August 2010 and has appeared over 330 times during his seven-year spell with them.
However, the 33-year-old has fallen out of favor under head coach Ernesto Valverde and reportedly told Barca in November of his intention to leave.
Earlier this week, Barcelona’s director Guillermo Amor stated that Mascherano’s future at the club was expected to be resolved in the next few weeks, as reported by Daily Mail.
