Thai League 1 champions Buriram United have set their eyes on a Vietnamese footballer, according to Thailand media outlet.
As reported by THSPORT, the Thunder Castle have reached an agreement with a player who is playing for a V.League side.
If the signing is completed, the player, whose surname is revealed as Nguyen, would play for the Thai League 1 outfit in the next season.
Beginning in 2018 season, the ASEAN player quota will be implemented in Thai Premier League and Thai Division 1 League from 2018 season.
Under the new regulation, Thai Premier League, and Thai Division 1 League clubs will be allowed to register three foreign players, one Asian player, and one ASEAN player. Previously, clubs are allowed to register four foreign players and one Asian player.
The new regulation applies to players from 9 ASEAN members other than Thailand, which are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam.
