Cambodia coach Prak Sovannara apologizes to the supporters after his side’s qualification hope in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup has come to an end.
Prak and his players suffered a 1-0 defeat to Jordan in the Group C match at the National Olympic Stadium on Tuesday.
“I’d like to also apologize to our supporters,” the Cambodian coach said, as quoted by TheMorning.
“Sometimes if we had tried to attack, we would have conceded several goals as we all know in the first leg it was because we tried to attack, and then we lost 0-7. So there’s only one reason that we decided to focus on much defense as they were better than us in all areas, but we gained mentality as our advantage [from the home supports].
“Of course, it was not a good match [as we tried to defend so much], but I hope our supporters could understand.
“I hope that our players will try to develop themselves when they go back to their club.”
