Kashima Antlers move closer to ninth J1 League title

Kashima Antlers moved closer toward a record-extending ninth J1 League championship trophy with a 2-1 away win over Consadole Sapporo on Sunday.

It took 47 minutes for Antlers to take the lead by a goal of Kento Misao. However, Shingo Hyodo equalized for the hosts midway through the second half.

Kanazaki secured the win for the J1 League defending champions with his 12th goal of the season in the 70th minute.

With this win, Antlers made a major stride to the title with 67 points, four ahead of Kawasaki Frontale which was held to a 2-2 draw with Kashiwa Reysol.
