Former Vietnam national team coach Henrique Calisto may be set to return to Vietnam as the manager of Ho Chi Minh City FC, according to reports from Vietnam.

According to the exclusive news from Saostar, Calisto’s son Tiago arrived in Vietnam on Saturday to negotiate for his father about the contract with HCM City FC chairman Le Cong Vinh, who was the frequent player in Calisto’s squad at the national team.

Calisto started working abroad in 2001 after landing a technical director job at Vietnamese club Dong Tam Long An. He won the domestic league title twice with the club.

However, the Portuguese’s biggest achievement in Vietnam was winning the AFF Cup with the national team in 2008.

During his first spell with Vietnam, Calisto lead them to the third place in the 2002 Tiger Cup. He also won a silver medal with Vietnam U-23 in the 2009 SEA Games.
