There had been three Spanish clubs and two Portuguese ones offering a trial session to Indonesian wonderkid Egy Maulana Vikri, his adoptive father Subagja Suihan revealed on Monday.
On the other hand, Subagja said that Egy did not need to undergo a series of tests, like most other Asian players.
“I am sure that Egy does not need to go on a trial anymore, he will sign the contract right away,” said Subagja to a number of media outlets in Spain, as quoted by Bola.
Egy started a career as a young footballer at SSB Tasbi Medan. He drew the attention of talent scouts while playing for SSB Tasbi at the Indonesian U-12 Championship in 2012 where he became the top scorer and led his team to the title.
In 2017 AFF U-18 Championship, the 17-year-old led the Young Garudas to finish third, while becoming the top scorer of the tournament with eight goals.
