Cambodia coach Leonardo Vitorino eyes a “historic” win over Vietnam in the 2019 Asian Cup away-legged qualifier in Hanoi on 10 October.
“The next match will be very difficult. We do not only face a strong team, but also the pressure from our fans. However, I always ask the players to focus and make their great efforts to play, regardless of whom the opponents are,” Vitorino told reporter before the training sessions on Saturday, as quoted by Goal Vietnam.
“Natural or artificial turf is not a big deal for us. We come here to play football. I am building a team for the future, but I also hope to make history at My Dinh Stadium,” said the Brazilian.
On the other hand, the Cambodia head coach also revealed that the star player Chan Vanathaka was suffering a minor injury ahead of their first training session in Vietnam yesterday.
“Chan Vathanaka, one of our most important players, has been injured. I am considering the alternatives of replacing him in case he would not be able to play,” said the Brazilian before the closed-door training at My Dinh Stadium.
