Leonardo Vitorino: Chan Vathanaka suffers minor injury

Cambodia head coach Leonardo Vitorino revealed that the star player Chan Vanathaka was suffering a minor injury ahead of their first training session in Vietnam yesterday.

“Chan Vathanaka, one of our most important players, has been injured. I am considering the alternatives of replacing him in case he would not be able to play,” said the Brazilian before the closed-door training at My Dinh Stadium, as quoted by Zing.vn.

Vathanaka is currently on loan at J3 League outfit Fujieda MYFC. However, the midfielder has yet to make his first appearance in a league game, and football fans in Cambodia are asking him to return home.

The 23-year-old is considered one of the brightest football prospect of Cambodia in the recent years. He joined  Boeung Ket Angkor in 2012, netting an incredible 116 goals in just 90 appearances.
