Vietnam appoint South Korean manager Park Hang-seo as national team head coach

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has reached a preliminary agreement with South Korean coach Park Hang-seo over the appointment of the national team head coach.

A statement from VFF said: “At the Seoul World Cup Stadium, the VFF delegation including Vice-president Tran Quoc Tuan, vice president for finance issue Doan Nguyen Duc and secretary general Le Hoai Anh, were negotiating with 58-year-old coach Park Hang-Seo.

Both sides have basically reached an agreement, and Park will take over the coaching position of Vietnam national and U-23 teams.”

It is expected that VFF and Park will finalize all the details in contract next month and the South Korea will be unveiled as the new coach of the Golden Stars on 14 October.

Park is currently in charge of managing the semi-professional Korea National League team Changwon FC.

In his coaching career, Park contributed to the historical fourth position of the Taegeuk Warriors in 2002 World Cup as the coaching assistant for head coach Guus Hiddink.
