Football Association of Malaysia receive RM4 million as reward for U23 team’s success

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have been given an RM4 million (USD 933,000) cash injection from the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Ibni Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj as a reward for the success of the Malaysia U23 team in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship qualification.

According to a statement on the FAM Facebook, FAM Secretary-General Dato’ Hamidin Amin said that the bonus was part of the reward promised to the players and team officials.

Previously, the FAM were promised RM6,000 to each coach and player each for their efforts but has received a much bigger financial boost.

In the post, Hamidin also wrote that part of the bonus will also be spent on the development of Malaysian football.
