Family problem forced Burak Yilmaz to leave Beijing Guoan

Beijing Guoan have confirmed the departure of Burak Yilmaz to Trabzonspor after agreeing a €5.5m transfer fee.

The 32-year-old Turkish international has been forced to leave the Chinese Super League side due to an ongoing child custory case.

“A €5.5 million deal was agreed between Guoan and Trabzonspor for Yilmaz to make the move,” read a statement from Beijing Guoan.

“Beijing Guoan thank Yilmaz for his contribution to the club and his professionalism on and off the pitch is admired by all of us. We wish him the best of luck in his future career.”

Yilmaz is in danger to lose custody of his child if he continues to stay in China as the news was revealed by Beijing Guoan general manager Li Ming.

“Yilmaz said he wanted to stay and was unwilling to leave, but he was forced to deal with family issues,” Li said was quoted by Goal China.

The Turkish striker has scored 19 league goals since making the move from Galatasaray in February last year.
