Jose Mourinho hits back at Paul Pogba comments

Jose Mourinho has responded bluntly to United player Paul Pogba’s slamming him for turning on the players during his time at Old Trafford by saying he ‘couldn’t care less’ what the French midfielder has to say about his reign as Red Devils manager.

Speaking earlier this week the French World Cup winner criticized Mourinho’s management methods by comparing them with the new styles adopted by current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba, signed by Mourinho, was one of numerous players to fall out with the Portuguese coach during his tenancy at United, with the most notable being a training ground row after the player was stripped of the vice-captaincy in September 2018.

“What I have now with Ole is different, he wouldn’t go against the players,” Pogba told Sky Sports.

“He wouldn’t go against the players.

“Maybe Ole wouldn’t pick them, but it’s not like he puts them on the side like they don’t exist anymore. That’s the difference between Mourinho and Ole.

“Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don’t know what happened. That’s the strange thing I had with Mourinho and I cannot explain to you because even I don’t know. So, yeah.”

The French midfielder’s comments were put to Mourinho after his Tottenham side drew 2-2 with Everton on Friday and he promptly retaliated by saying he couldn’t care less what Pogba thinks.

“I would like to say that I couldn’t care less with what he says,” he told Sky Sports. “I couldn’t care less. Not interested at all.”
