Alexander Isak’s two-word message to Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle thrash Leicester

Newcastle United swung back emphatically to winning ways with a. flourish after their 4-0 win against Leicester City at St. James’ Park.

Goals from Bruno Guimareas and Alexander Isak, besides a brace from Jacob Murphy, led to Eddie Howe’s side bouncing back from their 4-2 defeat against Brentford.

Newcastle were dominant from start to finish, with Murphy initially opening the scoring with a lovely finish into the bottom corner from inside the box.

Guimaraes then doubled the hosts’ lead with a routine header from close quarters after Lewis Hall’s header found him in acres of space.

Isak’s header compounded Leicester’s misery and he went on to assist Murphy’s well-taken strike to round off a wonderful day for the Magpies.

The Swedish striker was appreciative of Guimaraes in the aftermath of the contest when the latter took to Instagram after Newcastle’s latest victory by captioning his post:

“Very happy with today’s victory and goal! Thank you, my God and my family for always being with me in every moment! It’s always wonderful to score a goal at St. James’ Park. Resilience.”

Several of the former Lyon midfielder’s teammates commented on his post.

Isak wrote: “El mejor” [translated to ‘the best’ in Portuguese].

Sven Botman commented: “Bruno G”, followed by a ‘heart’ emoji.

Lewis Hall left a ‘heart-eyed’ emoji on Guimaraes’ post.

Even former Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi commented a pair of ‘raised hands’ emojis on his post.

Guimaraes was one of Newcastle’s best players against Leicester and his statistics from the contest exemplify how well he played once again.

All things considered, the revered technician put in yet another all-action performance.

Guimaraes was as precise with his passing as ever, while also being progressive, as proven by the fact that he played seven of them into the final third.

Winning four out of his seven duels, the Newcastle fan favorite also put himself about the pitch as he always tends to.

Guimaraes’ goal capped off yet another impressive outing for him in the famous black and white strip.
