Chelsea ups ante for Alexander Isak, offering Newcastle attacker signed just last year

Alexander Isak is an attacking upgrade Chelsea are anxiously hoping for and are keen to continue negotiations with Newcastle United to sign the hot striker. However, new information has just surfaced about a player who could move in the opposite direction.

Isak is now one of Chelsea’s top targets as they look for a center-forward able to take them to the next level. The Blues recently begun discussions with Newcastle, but discovered they may have to break the British transfer record yet again in order to sign the Sweden international.

Isak is currently valued at over £115m by Newcastle, which means the deal may have to be sweetened by Chelsea, by offering a player in part-exchange. That scenario has resulted in names like Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja flying around. Additionally, TEAMtalk also revealed earlier this

According to The Sun, the latest is that Nicholas Jackson has also entered the conversation as the Blues only signed Jackson last summer from Villarreal in a deal designed to see him ending up as their long-term striker. The Senegal international went on to score 17 goals in his debut season.

However, Chelsea’s obvious interest in Isak have shown they had long been earnest about bringing in a more proven center-forward, although their initial plan had been to rotate Jackson with a new arrival, but it now seems they could completely replace him altogether.
