Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos has been in the crosshairs of Al Hilal and is reportedly the subject of an eye-watering contract offer from the Saudi Arabian side.
The former Real Madrid skipper moved to the Parc des Princes club on a free transfer back in 2021 after spending 15 trophy-laden years at the Spanish La Liga giants.
Despite being 37, Ramos is still held in the highest esteem and Al Hilal are ready to offer Ramos a two-year deal to relocate to the Middle East, According to French news outlet L’Equipe. The Saudi Arabian outfit are willing to offer Ramos a net salary of €30 million (£26.4m) per year, which is almost quadruple what he reportedly takes home at PSG.
Al Hilal are currently sitting fourth in the Saudi League and they will be taking on Al Khaleej on Saturday.
However, Sportsmail claims that Ramos is allegedly in favor of staying with the Parc des Princes club and that PSG are also keen to hold onto the Spaniard, despite the club also reportedly beng keen to sign Inter Milan center-back Milan Skriniar on a free transfer come the end of the season.
Having been penalized with a stiff fine after breaking Financial Fair Play rules, PSG could well be looking at ways to slash their astronomical financial output. One of the ways they could achieve this would be to let the likes of Ramos and fellow big-earner Lionel Messi depart.
Argentine Messi’s current deal is set to run out at the end of the 22/23 season and no new agreement has been agreed between the player and the club as yet.
Ramos has clearly had a massive change of heart regarding his former LaLiga rival Messi since they both joined forces in PSG and the former Real Madrid captain now has only the highest compliments for the Argentine, whom he again recently spoke on PSG TV: “There was suffering for several years playing against Messi.
“I am now enjoying him. He is the best player football has ever produced.”
PSG will look to continue the defence of their Ligue 1 crown this weekend with a win against Lyon on Sunday.
